Our Commitment

Zabiha Halal, from farm to package

Every chicken raised at Maha Farm Texas is processed according to Zabiha Halal practice. Here's exactly what that means, and how we hold ourselves to it.

Zabiha Method

Each bird is hand-slaughtered by a trained Muslim handler with a swift cut, invoking the name of Allah, in accordance with Islamic guidelines.

Animal Welfare

Chickens are treated with care throughout their life and at the time of processing — no unnecessary suffering, no shortcuts.

Full Traceability

From hatch to harvest, our birds are raised and processed on our own farm, so we can stand behind every step personally.

What "Zabiha Halal" means

Zabiha (or "Dhabihah") is the Islamic method of slaughtering animals for food. It requires:

  • The person performing the slaughter is a sane, adult Muslim.
  • The animal is alive and healthy at the time of slaughter.
  • The name of Allah is invoked at the time of slaughter (Tasmiya/Bismillah).
  • A swift cut to the throat severs the trachea, esophagus, and jugular veins with a sharp blade, minimizing distress.
  • The blood is fully drained from the carcass before processing.

Our promise to you

We know Halal certification is a matter of trust, not just paperwork. That's why we process our chickens ourselves, on our own farm, rather than outsourcing to a third-party plant.

If you have questions about our practices, certification documentation, or would like to visit the farm and see our process firsthand, we welcome the conversation.
